Welcome to RAS AL KHAIMAH American Academy
Welcome to Ras Al Khaimah American Academy (RAKAA), a leading American curriculum school in the Northern Emirates. Founded in 2008 by Sheikh Faisal Bin Saqr Al Qasimi, RAKAA began with a visionary dream: to establish a premier institution where students in Ras Al Khaimah receive a world-class education, grow in confidence, and develop critical future-ready skills.
Today, that vision has evolved into a leading K-12 academy that seamlessly combines the academic rigor of an international American curriculum framework with a deep embodiment of Emirati values, national identity, and faith.
At RAKAA, our students do not just absorb lessons, they experience them. Nestled against the backdrop of the Jais Mountains, our campus offers a safe, warm, and nurturing environment where over 1,200 students are supported, challenged, and inspired to discover their full potential every single day.
RAKAA is fully accredited by Cognia with an exceptional Index of Education Quality (IEQ) score of 362, and is recognized by the Ministry of Education (MOE) for providing a safe, high-performing, and digitally innovative learning environment.

Meet Dr. Lori – A Message From Our Principal
Dear RAKAA Parents and Families,
I am delighted to introduce myself to you as the new Principal of Ras Al Khaimah American Academy. Joining RAKAA feels like the beginning of an exciting new chapter in a career that has been shaped by a deep belief in the power of education, relationships, and the difference a great school can make in a young person’s life.
I have spent more than 38 years in education and school leadership, beginning my journey in Canada and later working in international schools across the Middle East, including Kuwait, Oman, and Egypt. I have had the privilege of leading schools in very different cultural contexts and working with students, families, and educators from around the world. These experiences have taught me that while schools may look different from one country to another, the things that matter most are universal: children need to feel safe, known, valued, challenged, and believed in.
At the heart of everything I do is a simple belief: education changes lives. A great teacher can change a child’s confidence. A caring school can change a family’s experience. And a strong school community can change the future of its students.
I am incredibly excited to begin this journey with RAKAA, and I look forward to meeting you, hearing your stories, learning about your children, and working alongside you.
Dr. Lori
