RAKAA KG ABOUT RAKAA

Identity and Heritage

It all started back in 2008 when His Highness Sheikh Faisal Bin Saqr Al Qassimi had a dream and a vision. He dreamt of a school where his own daughters would receive the highest quality education, be nurtured and grow in confidence; a school which is forward thinking and promotes critical skills and excellence. His dream however did not remain confined to educating his own daughters; it grew to a much bigger vision; create a unique school which combines the rigor of an international educational model and the commitment to and embodiment of Emirati values, National identity and Faith. Hence, the idea of an All-Girls School. Thus, a school emerged and materialized in 2009, RAKAA was established to serve the rest of Ras Al Khaimah community. Over the years, subsequent demand for mixed gender education and more recently to cater for boys from Grades 5 upwards has resulted in the opening of a Boys Middle School.
The DNA of RAKAA is a ‘Top Performing Private School’ located in the Northern Emirates and offering a modern, forward thinking, and dynamic education to our students. We are building upon a very successful history of 13 years of international education experience in the UAE. We are a unique school which combines the rigor of an international educational model with the embodiment of Emirati values, national identity, and faith.
RAKAA’s renowned high standards are matched by an aspirational culture, and we have been rated by Cognia, one of the oldest US Accreditation Boards for International Schools, in the Index of Education Quality/ IEQ with a score of 362. This translates to a school that is characterized as ‘Exceeding Expectations and demonstrating ‘Noteworthy International Best Practice’. In the field of Digital Learning” we were likewise rated highly as ‘Developed’’ by MOE.

Principal’s Welcome Message

Our clear aim and purpose are to provide the best teaching and learning environment in which all our students will achieve their very best academically, physically, and socially and who embrace Islamic values, Arabic traditions, and culture.
Our motto ‘Share-Care-Empower-Inspire’ is fundamental to developing our students’ personalities as well as helping them build and improve their life-long learning skills. Empowering our students to become independent citizens with well-developed decision making, communication, collaboration, and critical thinking skills, contributes to creating leaders of the future. By working closely with all our parents we will together help to develop young people who will have all the skills they need to succeed in a rapidly changing, highly competitive global society to become future leaders.
Ras Al Khaimah American Academy /RAKAA is characterized by a very committed staff that has high aspirations for the students they teach and students themselves are eager to learn and participate in the life of the school. As Principal I hope to continue building upon the many successes of the school since its inauguration over twelve years ago and ensure we continue to provide the very best possible education for every student that attends the school. A critical part of this will be the opportunity to continue working in partnership with our parents as I believe that parents are an integral part of the learning process and therefore we are committed to keeping you informed and involved in our school community.

Our goal is to create a safe, warm, embracing, and nurturing learning environment for our students. As such we give particular importance to our student’s overall well-being, happiness, and comfort. I am hugely excited by the prospect of continuing to lead the school and in particular, working collaboratively with the support that I know you as parents will continue to give me.
Our School Improvement Plan for 2020_2021 focuses on the central question: How might we continue to improve school performance and student outcomes against global benchmarks while equipping students with the 21st-century skills required for online and offline participation in an uncertain world?
This year will present new opportunities and challenges. As we open the school year, we are thrilled to extend our offerings to include Middle School boys. We also know that many of our students and their families will have experienced anxiety and trauma over the past few months. Rest assured we are here to support you in every way possible.
Our students, teachers, staff, and parents are beginning this academic year more digitally savvy than ever. It is imperative that we, as a community, use these skills and build upon our progress over the past four years to ensure that the academic and social/emotional needs of all students are met, that students are even better prepared for the fast-changing global societies in which they will live and that RAK AA is a place where students, staff, and families thrive.
Whilst this website will give you some idea as to the campus, structure, and facilities of this young school, it is only by coming to visit that you will be able to grasp the very positive, purposeful, energetic, and multi-cultural learning community which has developed here.
