At RAKAA, we play our role in promoting Safer Internet Day everyday all year long for our students and entire community by focusing on Digital Citizenship & E-Safety to always ensure our students and community members are using the internet safely and wisely.
As part of the Safer Internet Day Initiative, a Virtual lecture on Safer Internet has been organized by RAKAA high school students for students, teachers, and staff members of the school to raise awareness about the threats, risks and dangers of using the internet and how to protect themselves against these threats and dangers, aka how to be safe while using the internet. As a recap of the lecture, organizers held an activity where attendees had to play a game which tested them on how they will be using the internet as well as avoiding internet threats and dangers.
In addition to the Safer Internet Day Lecture, the ICT Department took part in the initiative by introducing the Sunday Internet Safety Series on the school’s Social Media. This is a series in which short videos are made every Sunday in order to educate and guide our students on how to be safe when using the internet. Along with that, students in Gr. 3 to Gr.5 have been encouraged to take part in an ICT activity where they were asked to create Avatars with short messages related to Safer Internet Day using the Hashtag #SaferInternetDay
